Please Allow Me To Introduce Myself
Isn't it about time for another Austin Powers movie? YEAH BABY!
Postcrossing - here's a site I'm definitely signing up for because I love postcards, and anything we can all do internationally for fun is good.

Water Your Garden
Movie: Shaun of the Dead, I, Robot

You are water. You're not really organic; you're
neither acidic nor basic, yet you're an acid
and a base at the same time. You're strong
willed and opinionated, but relaxed and ready
to flow. So while you often seem worthless,
without you, everything would just not work.
People should definitely drink more of you
every day.

Speaking of water, it is still raining. Is constant rain bad for tomatoes?
Also speaking of water, when Mom came she brought the greatest thing ever - Crystal Light On The Go Lemonade - I couldn't get enough, and now they are all gone. : (
And Kraft Foods, let's work on that website a bit - you are not displaying your products attractively online.

These Dreams
Movie: The Dreamers
Hey guys, hope everyone had a nice Thanksgiving. This is the first year we didn't go out to eat for it, although I might go out tonight. I did make a dump cake though, and that was very good.
Monday we went and saw John Cleese. It was very funny when it was just him telling stories, not so funny when his troupe were performing skits. I also saw Member of Parliament Georgina Beyer standing outside waiting for someone to go see the show. Exciting.
Anyway, the rest of the week I have worked, come home, ate, watched TV, then gone to bed about 10:00 or 10:30.
This weekend I am studying, trying to catch up. My course this semester is NZ Society. This is the first sociology course I have ever taken, and I am finding it pretty interesting.
The weather was really horrible yesterday, constant waves of rain, and I would say unseasonably cool for this time of year. It is sunny this morning, but I don't know how long that will last.
Now on to some articles I have found interesting this week:
Key Bush Intelligence Briefing Kept From Hill Panel - When is President Bush going to apologize for lying to everyone?
How Many Can You Name?
Tiny things, tiny minds - this article fits in with my postmodernity studies this week
I'll try to be a better blog correspondent - please stop by and say hi.

Summer Breeze Makes Me Feel Fine
Movie: Mean Girls
Wow, November has been really busy for me. I usually have absolutely nothing to do, but for some reason this month has everything in it.
Saturday I had a belly dance workshop and that night we had a hafla. I did not dance this time because the space we had to dance in was very small, but I did play drums, and people I didn't even know were saying "great drumming" and making nice comments, so I was pleased. I think the hafla went over pretty well, and I learned some new stuff at the workshops, so it was a good weekend. I also got a cool coin belt - bright blue with silver coins - it sounds fantastic, and with my new hip work I learned, I can actually get some noise out of it.
We're going to see John Cleese tomorrow night in Wellington - I think that's the last of all my excitement for the month.

Oh, and did I mention it is really, really windy here? Well, it is.

Hero Takes A Fall
Music: The Book of Secrets - Loreena McKennitt
Movie: Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason
Hey kids, I'm back. I'm pretty sure Mom made her flight back to LA (she called and said she had her boarding pass) so that's all good. We had a nice relaxing time, Mom got to see me play drums (my first public gig!) and we just kind of hung out. It was good.
And now back to real life:
US reports decline in executions - Texas is still way out in front though - we need to work on getting that number down to none.
Tommy Lee Jones criticises Senator Hutchison's border control policy - he's right.
Thanks FDA for giving thoughtful consideration to women's reproductive needs - NOT!
I'm also going to start "highlighting" websites I like, and that I think are important reads. I try to keep up with them daily, weekly for sure.
First up is Redneck Mother. I've never met Redneck Mother, but I do know she's from Texas, she's smart, she's funny, she's thoughtful, and her posts have been super fantastic the past few weeks - seriously, go check her out.

The Waiting Is The Hardest Part
Movie: Super Size Me
Hey kids, as you may have read in the comments, Mom's coming to town AND I have an exam Monday, so posting may be pretty light for the next week or so. Or maybe not, you never know.
Kong shenanigans
OK stay cool and I'll be back sometime.

Here's a helpful reminder: if you talk to someone on the phone, please be mindful that they might be wearing a headset, and if you slam the phone down when hanging up, you are slamming the phone down right in their ear - and it hurts! Thank you.
