When Black Friday Comes

Movie: Power and Terror

OK, when in the hell did they start calling it "Black Friday", because you can't tell me it has always been called that?

I say right on to this kid. He's only wearing the truth. What's the prob? Maybe this would be a good introduction for history and social studies classes to discuss the US government and it's terrorist actions.

Don't believe me? Check this out.

Turkey Turkey Gobbler Please Run Away

Dolphins are cool. I also like the last line of the article where it says dolphins "like to help the helpless." Maybe we should all be a little more dolphin like - I know I'm going to try to be.

Americans Who Tell The Truth - Beautiful pictures and bios of some of our best Americans - I give thanks that there were (and still are) people like this in our history who fought for the underdog, did the right thing, and brought injustices to our attention.

Well, I guess everyone's heading on out for the holiday. We will be dining out on the traditional Thanksgiving steak tonight after work. Eat a piece (or more) of pie for me.

Beer Me!

Has everyone heard the new Band Aid?

The Daily DeLay - keep up with his "moral" and "ethical" shenanigans.

Pretty fascinating article on the school textbook business.

And here's an interesting twist to the article. Looks like they are already taking that guy's advice.

And on that same website, I found an article on South Grand Prairie High School. Go Big Red!

It's a beautiful day here, so I guess I should be out in the sun. I need to get some lunch first though.

You Stole My Heart And That’s What Really Hurt

Movie: Jalla! Jalla!

Friday Link Bonanza - I'm just clearing out my bookmarked links so I can start fresh next week.

Empire Notes

Our Traditional Non-Traditional Wedding

Male Fish Producing Eggs

Human Rights Watch

Let's say it again - there is NO abortion-cancer link

Perhaps there would be less abortions if contraceptives were free or very low-cost

This will break your friggin' heart - here's the follow-up

Who knew you could buy five pounds of Silly Putty?

Funny

Why are we so obsessed with toilet activity?

Joyful Dancing

These companies go above the requirements for their reservist employees. Good on them

I haven't been on the net so much this week, because it was really stressing me out. Simon said I couldn't get back on, but he's not here this weekend so I am - tee hee!

Y'all have a good weekend - I think I'm going to get good and drunk at my work Xmas do Saturday night.

Dress You Up In My Love

So let me get this "straight" - dressing up in clothes of the opposite sex, which people have been doing for years because it's funny, is bad - dressing up in clothes people wear when they are going to kill something, is OK. Sigh.

The KFS Sweater Project - this is funny.

So Long Farewell

Adios ODB

Hey John Ashcroft, it's called Checks and Balances, and if you don't like it, then get out.

Oh, I guess you already are. I would say good riddance, but I'm afraid someone even worse will be stepping in.

Deep In The Heart of Texas

Hey look, some good news for Friday.

Don't you hate it when you're trying to sleep in on Saturday, and one of your husband's friends calls at 8:45, waking you up, to talk about motorbikes? Yeah, me too.

Alright, have a good weekend.

Oh, and if anyone sees a cheap copy of Johnny Tremain anywhere, will you buy it for me? I've never read it before, and I want to, and it's not in the library here. Only if it's like a dollar or something. Thanks.

Extra Friday bonus - what does Bart say Johnny Tremain should be called?

You Were Working As A Waitress In A Cocktail Bar

Movie: Kombi Nation

Some literary links for today:

The Paperback Revolution

zooba.com - this might be a good idea if you like reading the latest bestsellers.

Lance Broughton - I saw this guy's website on a car when I was getting dins last night - of course I had to look it up.

So what are you reading right now?

Who's Gonna Drive You Home

On the way home from work today, I saw a billboard with Ronald McDonald smiling and waving, with the message "Drive Sober Always". ???? Who is Ronald talking to? Kids? Are kids supposed to harass their parents about driving drunk? Should kids even know what driving drunk means?

I don't know, I just thought it was a little creepy.

Only Make Believe

Adios Howard Keel

As I see from the Poll o' the Week, I did not do a very good job of getting the truth out about the US government on my website. And really, no wonder no one believes the truth, as evidently in Texas we do not grow up learning facts, we grow up learning "opinions". Hoorah to Mavis Knight for voting against them.

Oh, and here's another good one - the government has tried to downplay recommendations in the new global warming study, even though it says global warming is a good thing as it opens up more oil and gas reserves. Yeah, I guess we won't miss those beaches (and countries) that will be destroyed by melting ice caps.

And things are going great in Iraq too.

My Love Caught In The Slammin' Door

It's Guy Fawkes today (Simon's favorite holiday) and we are having his family and some friends over tomorrow, and so a couple of his nieces and their boyfriends are staying tonight and our bathroom door kind of sticks and you know how teenagers are - god forbid someone walk in on them in the toilet - so I have been listening to the bathroom door slam for a good twenty minutes - we gotta get that fixed because it's super annoying.
