I'll Go Mine

Bad Company

No New Nukes

Anonymous library cards

I had "one of those days" today, and to cap it off I got a nasty paper cut on my thumb as I was folding up letters and stuffing them in envelopes. So then I was bleeding all over the letters. And I was in a time crunch to get these letters out, so I had to get a band-aid to cover up the giant bleeding cut, which still made the folding and stuffing awkward, but at least there was no blood. Is it Friday yet?

Seriously, do these guys think the world is stupid? That people don't read newspapers or watch TV or surf the Internets? Why do they keep getting away with this?

OK, about three people will think this is funny, but I don't think two of them read my blog, so here ya go, KK! I just stumbled across it.

It's Hard To Rely On My Good Intentions

Good Intentions Gone Bad

More from Robert Fisk

Operation Yellow Elephant

I think I'm going to have to give up driving - for one thing, gas is just too expensive, and for another, I get road rage too easily.

Maybe I need to meditate before I start the car. Because the bus during the cold and flu season is just not that appealing. No matter how much better it would be for the environment.

I know - I'm bad. But I think economics will force my hand anyway. Ah well.

Who Am I To Disagree

Nobody Bowls For Red Lake

Seriously, what is the point of this? Aren't there other things this time and money could be spent on?

You know, since their customers are the same working class folk who are working at Wal-Mart, I doubt they really want something like this implemented. I mean, sheesh, nobody wants to work somewhere with this kind of scheduling, and I wouldn't expect it of the places I spend money at either. A disturbing development.

This Is The End

Yay! I just turned in my last assessment for my course. I have to say, even though it was like pulling teeth to get myself to finish, I really did enjoy my course and my assignments. I really did learn a lot about the Alamo. And I just found a cross credits form, so maybe I can get credit here for some of my UNT work. That would be excellent. For some reason, though, I'm not sure if I have enrolled correctly for next semester - I guess I'll find out soon enough.

She's A Mystery To Me

Movie: In America

HAPPY BIRTHDAY LAURIE!

I know I had something I wanted to discuss earlier, but I can't remember it now. Sorry.

Twelve Ways to Think Differently.

I'm also sending out an e-mail about this, but if you have some kind of digital camera (and if I have one, I'm pretty sure everyone else does), take of picture of yourself and send it to me - I want to put them in my address book so they pop up when I get sent an e-mail. Fun!

Remember the Alamo?

OK, I'm working on a guide for my course, and I picked the Alamo, and you know what? I learned almost NOTHING about it in school! Was I not paying attention? Was the textbook or my teacher that boring? Was I even given the right information? Who knows? All I know is I'm much better informed now, and will continue to do some research. It's fascinating! It's also fascinating how much I had no idea about.

So here's my poll for today:

And here's 11 Steps to a Better Brain - so I can learn more about the Alamo!

Librarian's brush with FBI shapes her view of the USA Patriot Act - yikes, God forbid you do a research paper on some topical subject - you might just end up on some wacky FBI list.
