Ah geez, Texas is in the (bad) news again.
Don't you hate it when you go to say "Hello!" to someone you are passing in the hall at work, but they say "Hi!" first, so then you end up saying "Hi-Lo!?!" in a confused manner? Yeah, me too.

Read Print - free books for students, teachers, and the classic enthusiast.
I watched a movie this morning because the "Did You Know?" at the start of it stated the writer and director of the movie was the Writer in Residence at UTA. I did not, so I watched it. It even had Allan Saxe in it - so great. Anyway, the movie was pretty entertaining, I would think especially so if you are a teacher.
And I should give a shout out to Steven Marks, a kid I went to school with who recently e-mailed me. He is in Iraq in the U.S. Army.

Well, our mailbox has been stolen. It just caps off a great run of luck, starting with the pipe bursting outside the house, the car starter switch blowing out, and now the mailbox gone. Have a good weekend! I'll be shopping for cheap mailboxes.

Went to our yearly BookFest this weekend - got several good books, and Simon bought a whole pile of Popular Mechanics from the 50's that I swear have something interesting on every page - we are wondering what happened to some of this technology, but there are heaps (good NZ word for you) of cool stuff. My favorite so far is the "Boatel" - a motel for people with boats - I mean, why didn't those become popular??? Or maybe they do have them and I just haven't seen any. I better go check the net right now.
OK, I'm back and I have found the:
Sunset Inn & Boatel
A demolished boatel
A really old boatel
There are also some boat storage places called boatels (my favorite being the Boatel California), and some houseboats called boatels, but those don't count in my book.
Alright, did we all learn something today? I know I did.

Found some cans of Dr. Pepper at a dairy last night - it was so nice, now I am craving it. I will probably end up buying out their stock!
Funny bit of news via Jeff - again, something you would never see in the US.

Man, heard some Loverboy today - I think it will be Loverboy weekend. My favorite Loverboy memory is when Heidi Berta wore her "Get It Up Keep It Up" concert t-shirt to school, and Mr. Moeller asked her what that meant. Good times.
Uh, so what DOES that mean?

Don't you hate it when you get to work and realize you have some kind of giant stain on your shirt? Or am I the only one this happens to? I think I need to invest in that full length mirror.
