So we had to go in to Wellington this morning for some shopping, and I found a new (old) Mexican food restaurant (evidently it has just moved locations). However, it was another hour before they opened and I didn't want to wait around so no enchiladas for me today. : ( But Simon said we could go back maybe next weekend. : )
And I'm kind of annoyed I didn't know about it in its old location because it was close to where I used to work in Wellington and I could have been going there A LOT! Damn!
Well, it's been a pretty good weekend. Mom was here and we just kind of puttered around, had some nice meals, did some things around UH I had not done before. I hope she enjoyed it and got to relax.
And I forgot to wish Erin Happy Birthday on the 21st, so Happy Birthday Erin!
Welcome back! I don't know why I was offline, but hopefully it is fixed now.
And to celebrate please enjoy this beautiful song by Dusty Springfield. The more I hear her, the more I like her. I heard this in a movie trailer and had to find out what it was. Enjoy!
So I tried to call someone in the US today, and I got stymied by the phone system - the one where you have to be a recognized number or know the code. Well, I wasn't and didn't, so I had to say my name and then who knows what happened? I ended up going to a voice mail and well, that's just not the same as talking to someone in person, is it? Especially on their birthday.
People, I know I am far away but please - if you move, give me your new details. If your phone numbers change, give me your new details. If you put some kind of code on your phone, give me the code. It's not like I'm going to frickin' call all the time. If you get a new e-mail address and would prefer me to use it, e-mail me and let me know. If your partner status, child status, pet status, job status, anything changes, I really do want to know. I know some things are unpleasant and sad to discuss, or to let people know about, but that is life, you know?
On the positive side, this fun blog I read gave Texans a big compliment about their friendliness. Check out the rest of her blog and her Flickr page - I swear hours will fly by as you are looking at her pics.
I do not know what the deal is, but we are overrun with flies. They are just all over the place, not just at our house, everyone else around has the same problem. Fly spray doesn't kill them and most are too wily for my homemade fly trap. I'm burning a big citronella candle INSIDE tonight to see if that helps but so far not really. Bleh!
