HOT HOT HOT
Movie: The Incredibles, National Treasure
I just bought this for myself - isn't it beautiful?
I can add podcasts to my MySpace page, so when I get my drum, I'll record myself playing so you can hear it.
Or you can come here and hear me play live - something to look forward to, eh, KK?
Simon has officially become a nerd - he got glasses today. Tee hee.
Had a job interview this morning - they said I did well, but we'll see. Parts of the job would be good, parts not so good. But it would definitely improve my social life, so I'm all for that!
Now I'm sweating like a pig because it's hot and we don't have A/C - I need to go sit in front of the fan nude. Just a little mental image for your Monday - ha!

Friday
Sorry for the lack of posting, kids, this week has worn me out. You can tell because I can't come up with anything interesting for my subject line.
I made albondigas for a work lunch today - they were good. Not as good as the ones from the Mexican chef at The Blueberry Farm, but still, not too shabby.
Wednesday there was some kind of bike race through Lower Hutt around where I work - this meant the bus stop had moved to a different location. Not a problem - unless it was bucketing down rain like it was - I was soaked through by the time I got there. The bike racers didn't look like they were enjoying the race much either.

You Look So Fine
Movie: Happiness
Good on Google - you know, I'm on the net every day, and the only way I stumble across porn is if I'm looking for porn.
We had some of our own tomatoes for dins last night - they were very good.

It's Your Birthday
HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOM!
and
HAPPY BIRTHDAY CYNTHIA!
We are in the middle of some major rain and wind - we just went out to check the garage and make sure nothing was on the floor that would get messed up, as it has flooded before. I'll let you know how it goes.
Today's highlighted sight - BobHarris.com - great writer, a real pleasure to read.

Against The Wind
HAPPY BIRTHDAY KAYLEE!
Everything you always wanted to know about farting - fascinating!
Have you noticed there is more farting on TV and in movies? I think it's a good move - farting is funny.
Unless you're on the bus and someone lets a silent one go - that is NOT funny.
I made this soup tonight - it was pretty good, but Simon didn't think it was corny enough.

You Say Tomato
Movie: Catwoman
Hey all you veggie growers out there, I have a question about tomatoes.
So we have some tomatoes growing, and some have turned red, but they are not very big, and they are not cherry tomatoes. Do they keep getting bigger, or when they turn red are they pretty much done?
Just wondering.

Viva Mexico!
Movie: Friday the 13th, Sex and Lucia
One of the blueberry farms up Akatarawa Road has opened a Mexican cafe for lunch on the weekends (the chef is really from Mexico) - guess who was there at lunch time today to eat? Simon and I each had a plate, some fresh squeezed lemonade, and blueberry ice cream for dessert. It was fantastic.
And if you are trying to get a leg over (look it up if you can't figure it out), I recommend the movie Sex and Lucia - you will be at it before the credits are finished.

Let The Good Times Roll
This is the funniest thing I've read in a while.
From today's highlighted sight This Modern World
Oh, now I just read something not so funny.
This isn't very funny either. Sigh.

She's So Hot
Robin Recommends The Fire Next Time by James Baldwin.
Sorry not much going on - I'm breaking in a new pair of shoes, and my feet hurt.
It's sort of hot here.
A guy had a bouquet on the bus tonight going home - wonder if he got lucky?

Ride Like The Wind
Movie: The Terminal
Man, I must be getting old, because I was agreeing with stuff Andy Rooney was saying on CNN last night. Or maybe I just understand where he's coming from now.
Finally got me some Crocs today - have been looking for them forever, but they are either never in my size, or in my size but in a color like brown. I had to settle for "Butter", but it is not too bad.
Today's highlighted site - Think Progress - advancing progressive ideas and policies.

Another SGP alumnus - though I have to laugh when I see this - I mean, I've seen this guy in a pen fight - and what's up with the hair? I can't take myself seriously, much less anyone else I know. I may have to e-mail him and have a bit of a laugh.

I Think I Lost My Headache
I woke up this morning with a raging headache. I just don't get them that often, and usually they go away once I take something, but that wasn't happening this morning. Anyway, I finally stumbled into work, and the temp had called in sick with a headache, and my two coworkers were downing the Nurofen for their headaches. It must be the weather, it's the middle of summer but it's coat weather outside. Seriously.
Anyway - after work I went Te Papa for a salsa jam - I was there for the Cuban musicians, who were excellent and I really enjoyed them. Unfortunately it was inside due to the aforementioned cool weather, but still an enjoyable evening.
And speaking of music, here's an SGP alumnus who seems to be doing alright for herself. Go Susan!

They Call The Wind Maria
Seriously, we are having some serious wind here - gale force. And rain is expected. I think it's going to be a noisy, wet night.
And that's just inside.
Hey now! : )

We Can Start All Over In The New Beginning
Movie: Friday
Great, I'm already a day late for my first post of the year.
And it's a new year, a time of hope that this year will be better than the next. This year I'm working on my dancing and drumming, my fitness, and of course continuing to learn more and more and more.
I will continue to be intolerant of intolerance, willful ignorance, and the US government until they start shaping up. I will continue to be tolerant of other's lifestyles, religions, and world views unless any of those are used to deny anyone else some basic happiness in life. This includes marriage, celebration (or non-celebration) of holidays, and unnecessary war and terrorism (Hi George!).
Our world is changing, and we have to change with it.
I will continue to talk about my life online, so you all know I'm still here, and alive and well. And I hope you will respond in kind, so I know you are still there, and alive and well.
Thanks to everyone who reads my blog and leaves comments. I know you have busy lives, and I appreciate you taking the time to visit my site. And I encourage everyone to get their own blog if you don't have one already. Let me know if you want any suggestions on getting started.
Let's all have a great year! Welcome 2006!
